Marcus Hunt was named Director of DC Government Operations, District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) in April 2022. In this role, Marcus is responsible for advising the DCNG Commanding General as to best practices in DC government operations that can be applied to agency programs and procedures; providing directions in the preparation and maintenance of contingency plans that require the use of National Guard assets for District emergencies; and coordinating with the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice. DC Government Operations is responsible for a $17 million budget and 150 employees.
Prior to this role, Marcus served as the Base Civil Engineer on Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, overseeing 104 acres of land and 45 facilities valued at $521 million. Marcus is a Major in the DCNG and has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Marcus brings extensive knowledge and experience to all facets of the District of Columbia and the DC National Guard.
